Houston, TX- An off-duty deputy and city worker were injured Tuesday after a traffic collision in a construction zone.
Police say that the deputy and the Houston city worker, both of whom have not been identified, were leaning up against a truck parked in a construction zone when a woman driving a green car approached the zone and struck the truck in the rear, causing a collision, according to Click2Houston.Com.
The truck then hit both the deputy and the worker. They were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police determined that the woman was intoxicated and placed her under arrest.
Another vehicle nearly collided with the two disabled vehicles from the first accident. The driver of that vehicle, a man, was also intoxicated and placed under arrest. His passenger was charged with public intoxication.
